Anxiety Study

Due to COVID-19 and the lockdown, some people are feeling more stressed and anxious. In fact, recent research and the news have highlighted the negative effects COVID-19 has had on our mental health. Below are some links for some of the studies and news articles that have highlighted these issues during COVID-19:

Academic Work

Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety, Depression, and Sleep Quality

Lack of Social Support and Anxiety

Media Articles

COVID-19 and Mental Health

COVID-19 and Anxiety

What does this mean? Well, clearly more widespread and easier to use solutions for dealing with these common mental health concerns are needed.

The mobile application Rootd (available in the app store) may provide a means of providing mental health support to people. Currently, the Krigolson Lab is conducting an online study to investigate this further (which is likely how you found this page!). If you are interested in participating, please contact krigolsonlab@uvic.ca for further information. If you do participate, you’ll be entered into a draw to win one of ten 100$ amazon gift cards!
